This year will be the 5th year that DD8 Music have organised the Bon Scott tribute. The 1st event was in May 2006 when we unveiled the commemorative stone for Bon in Kirriemuir, followed by a tribute gig in the town hall.

We have continued to run the tribute gig every year and will carry on to do so for as long as we can. The event now has more of a festival feel as we have arranged for local pubs in the town to play host to local bands through the day, followed by the main event in the town hall at night, and the local night club has always played rock music from midnight - 2pm for visitors when they leave the gig.

Local businesses welcome the visitors that this event attracts and are always very accommodating. For example, The Kirriemuir and Glens Museum in the town square has a display of Bon and AC/DC memorabilia and staff are always friendly and happy to chat about Bons place in the history of our town. While other businesses choose to make tributes to Bon and the event in their own way by designing appropriate window displays with guitars etc. This really adds to the atmosphere of the whole event. For one weekend every year Bon's disciples descend on the wee red town of Kirriemuir and it comes alive!
