BON SCOTT STATUE FOR KIRRIEMUIR MOVES FORWARD!
Kirriemuir based community group DD8 Music is embarking on a project to honour one of the town’s most famous sons, the late front man of world renowned rock group AC/DC, Ronald Belford Scott. DD8 Music plan to erect a bronze life size memorial statue of Bon in his childhood home.
THE SCULPTOR
They have commissioned Ayrshire based sculptor John McKenna to design and sculpt the memorial statue of Bon. John is a sensational artist and ACDC fan to boot, he said “it’s a great honour, Bon Scott was an icon of my teenage years”. THE FUNDING
DD8 are reaching out to the global ACDC fan base to help fund the project. They want it to be funded by the fans for the fans. They are asking for fans around the world to join together and pledge just one unit of their currency or indeed any amount they wish towards the statue. There will also be the opportunity for fans to have their name displayed on a plaque or the actual plinth if they donate a specific amount. The Facebook group page can be found here.
